Getting started

This section guides through the installation of Met.3D and provides a short overview of how to use the software.

If you are a user, we recommend you use the ready-to-use conda package that we provide for Linux: Linux binary conda package. To compile Met.3D from source (for specific functionality or for development), please follow these notes: Compile Met.3D from source code: Linux (conda).

Once Met.3D is installed, the section First steps with Met.3D provides a tutorial for your first steps with Met.3D.

Note

Please note that Met.3D is being developed within university research and teaching. We do our best to fix bugs in the software. However, you may encounter issues when using Met.3D. Please let us know about any bug you encounter, so we can improve the software. Please also regularly check for software and user guide updates.

Note

There is more functionality in Met.3D (in part experimental) than described in this user guide. We are extending this user guide as we find time, of course, any help is much appreciated.
